Adding Widgets to HTML Pages

News Widget
Widget on an HTML Page

From an HTML page or from the Content Search Manager, the Content Contributor simply adds a Widget piece of Content, chooses the desired widget structure type, fills out the required fields and publishes the new widget content.

In the example provided above, the user has selected "News Pull Widget", has set the new Widget title and has provided the maximum amount of News Articles that will appear in the dynamic listing.

After saving the "Widget- Pull of the 5 latest News Articles" above, the Widget is re-used on a webpage (see right), to pull news onto an HTML page in a Container.  As of the 1.6.5 release, all Containers allow Widgets in addition to the standard Content formatted by the Container.
