Bulk Uploading of Files

File Assets can be bulk uploaded to a dotCMS server through a webDAV connection.  For instructions on how to set up a webDAV connection, please see the webDAV Setup documentation.

Using webDAV on Windows or Mac OS

After creating a webDAV connection, simply open the folder on your local machine that has the files you wish to upload, then open the webDAV connection and open the folder on the dotCMS server that you would like to upload your file to.  Drag the files on your local machine to the open folder on the webDAV connection. 

Copy Status

A copy status window will briefly appear, and then disappear after the files have completed uploading.  After the files have been uploaded, they will be visible in the Website Browser of the dotCMS installation.  Depending on the configuration used in your webDAV setup, files are uploaded as either unpublished "working" copies or "live" published copies that are immediately available for display on HTML pages.
