Content Versions

All content in the dotCMS maintains a change history that can be reverted.  These new "Versions" of content are recorded on each save of the content and can be viewed by opening a piece of content and clicking on the "Versions" tab.

The "Versions" tab displays the following information:

• Status - displays which version is the published or "live" version
  
• Action - Delete: This option allows the user to delete the selected version of the content
• Action - Bring Back: Clicking on the "bring back" link opens a notification window that asks if the user is sure about reverting to the selected version.  Clicking "OK" on the notification changes the selected version's status to be the new "working version" of the content
  
• Title - Clicking on the title of the content version allows the user to open the prior version and examing the version before bringing that version back
  
• Author - Displays the author at the time the version was created
  
• Modified Date - Displays the date and time the version was modified
