dotCMS Configuration
dotCMS offers a wide range of configuration options. There are many things to consider when thinking about how to configure your dotCMS. First, you will need to know the configuration of the server/hardware your dotCMS is going to be running.
A few things to consider:
- How much RAM does the server have to provide to dotCMS?
- Is the server 64bit?- You are limited to 1.5 gigs of ram usually in a 32bit environment
- What database is going to be used to back the dotCMS?
- Do I need to configure LDAP or any other external piece?
- Will I need to run in a clustered environment?
You of course will need to know how much traffic your site is expected to get. This will aid you in knowing how to tweak the dotCMS for optimal performance.
