Version Control

Every time a dotCMS object is saved, a new "Version" of that object is stored.  These Versions of objects can be used to "Roll Back" to a previously saved Version of the dotCMS object in question.  The following dotCMS objects display a Versions tab:

• Containers
• Content
• Files
• HTML Pages
• Menu Links
• Templates

An example of how to use the Versions tab to bring back a previously saved Version of a dotCMS object can be found in the Content Versions documentation.  All of the dotCMS objects listed above can be reverted to a previous version in the same manner as a piece of Content.
