Webpage Architecture

The dotCMS completely separates content from the HTML page.  Content is stored in the database in a "content store" or "content repository" and HTML pages are saved as web assets in a separate location.  HTML Pages utilize Templates, Containers, and Structures,  to connect the content created/re-used to the HTML page.  This separation of wepage content from the HTML page allows content to become re-usable and exist on as many webpages as needed.  The same content can also be displayed in different ways to suit the needs and function of each webpage.
