The demo provided is a copy of the starter site that is built when you first install dotCMS 1.6.5. It includes the new widgets feature, the Web 2.0 Calendar and some helpful documentation.  It should give you a good idea of how dotCMS works. It is automatically rebuilt every 12 hours at noon and midnight EST.

Demo Guidelines

There are a couple of guidelines that we ask that you follow when using the demo. Basically, we ask that you leave it in a state where other users can try it out as well. Below are some guidelines for doing so.

• Please do not edit the accounts or the account passwords. Doing so can render the demo unusable.
• Please do not upload extremely large files.
• Please refrain from entering potentially offensive language or content
• Please contact us if you cannot access the demo. We will do our best to restore it immediately.

Technology that powers the demo

All the dotCMS sites, including the dotCMS demo server, are running on our dotCMS server appliance.  The dotCMS server appliance is a ready to run solution with plenty of horsepower for all but the most demanding sites.  If true enterprise scalability is a concern, dotCMS can be configured to run in a multi-server cluster.   Please contact us for more information regarding clustered solutions.

The demo server is running the latest release on Linux 2.6 kernel, Tomcat 6.0, Java JDK 6.0 and PostgreSQL 8.1. The database is automatically rebuilt every 12 hours.
